trust typesThere are many types of trusts available on the market today designed to support the different financial needs of investors. Ira trusts, 401k trusts, retirement trusts and investment trusts. Regardless of which trust account you may utilize, in all trusts, a trustee agrees to manage the assets within the trust according to the terms of the trust agreement.

This is where the actual trust is named as the beneficiary.

If you change the name on the account to a trust account name, the IRS may consider that a distribution and a distribution could be a taxable event.

Retirement trusts:

This is where a separate trust is established just to hold the retirmenet plan assets.

Investment trusts:

This is a closed end fund which has a fixed number of outstanding shares trading on the market.
